Judith Ann Young Scholarship

History

Judith Ann Young, the wife of Dr. Charles E. Young, was UF’s First Lady from 2002-04. She was raised in the Northeast and attended Centenary College in New Jersey. Later she moved to California where she raised three children, was active as a community volunteer and had a career in real estate. At the University of Florida, Mrs. Young served on a number of university and community boards and was instrumental in the undertaking of extensive renovations in the President’s Home. She made a major contribution to the university when in 2003 she chaired UF’s 150th anniversary celebration “Party on the Plaza,” which raised over one million dollars for the Endowment for the Cultural Arts Plaza.

The Judith Ann Young Scholarship is given in recognition of overall excellence in scholarship, leadership and service to the campus and the community.
