Brisbane H. Brown, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund


History

This fund was established in 2011 by a group of donors in memory of Brisbane H. Brown, Jr. to support a scholarship for the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction; this scholarship will be awarded to a Rinker student who demonstrates financial need; first preference will be given to veterans or ROTC members.

Brisbane began teaching at the University of Florida in 1974 and was named director in 1980. He served as director until 1987 then continued to teach until 2010. His presence at UF was instrumental in developing the relationship M.E. “Doc” Rinker had with UF, Rinker was the chief sponsor of the M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction.

Brisbane passed away in 2010.

Criteria

This fund supports scholarships students in the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Bbuilding Construction with financial need; preference to veterans or ROTC members.
