Keith Embree Memorial Scholarship Fund
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be attending any public, private or parochial school within the state of Florida and come from a household with an income of less than $40,000. Given Keith's passion for the environment, he/she must also be targeting a major with a school/department within the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences division (IFAS). Pre-endowment.
The Keith Embree Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of Keith Embree, who passed away March 2022, in Gainesville, Florida. He was 66 years old. Keith was a loving husband to Nancy, father to Lauren and Keith, brother to Katie, and dog Dad to Watson, the Embree family’s loving but quite needy Bassett Hound.
Keith had a passion for his family, tennis, fishing, health and fitness, reading, being outdoors, and the environment. His love for nature and environmental conservation is a value this scholarship will intend to reflect.
Once the fund reaches the $30,000 endowment level, a monetary benefit will be drawn from the scholarship fund annually and awarded to one high school senior to assist with the costs of attending the University of Florida (UF). To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be attending any public, private, or parochial school within the state of Florida and come from a household with an income of less than $40,000. Given Keith’s passion for the environment, he/she must also be targeting a major with a school/department within the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences division (IFAS).
Starting the Keith Embree Scholarship Memorial Fund is a way of giving back to those in need, something Keith also cared deeply about.
