Tropical Research Scholarship in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation

Fund Purpose
This scholarship is a $5,000 award to support the field research of a graduate student studying vertebrate animals in Central or South America. Funds may not be used to support lab expenses or graduate student stipend/ but travel expenses, funds to support field research assistants, field supplies and equipment are allowable. The research should have a strong conservation component with a letter of support from an in-country organization. Scholarship funds will be distributed through the chair of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Any reusable equipment purchased with scholarship monies such as cameras, drones, radios, etc., become the property of WEC at the discretion of the chair once the students' projects are concluded so that they can then be utilized by future students and the department itself in its conservation efforts.
