The Jannie L. Bagley Jacobs, Jeanette H. Jacobs and Anna M. Morris Scholarship Endowment was created to honor the legacy of Anna’s Grandmother (Jannie L. Bagley Jacobs) and Mother (Jeanette H. Jacobs) who instilled an ethic of hard work, life-long learning and lending a helping hand to others as guiding principles for their lives. Deeply rooted in their faith and belief that education opened doors to opportunities for a better life, Jannie Bagley and Jeanette Jacobs successfully navigated the vestiges of Jim Crow and the Civil Rights Movement to rear their families and guide them to better lives. Jeanette sacrificed to ensure her daughter, Anna, was able to attend and graduate from the University of Florida. After a successful 30-year active-duty career in the United States Air Force, Anna believed the best way to honor the legacy of the two most influential women in her life was to establish this endowment which ensures future generations of students will have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals without the stress and worry of funding college.
