Rachelle Bergeron Hammerling Memorial Fellowship
The Rachelle Bergeron Hammerling Memorial Fellowship Fund is established to honor the life and work of Rachelle Bergeron Hammerling (JD 10). Rachelle’s life was cut short in 2019 by a senseless act of violence while she advanced the rule of law and served the people of Yap in Micronesia. The spendable income from the fund shall be used to provide financial assistance for one or more UF Law students annually who are pursuing legal experience in the areas of human rights, international civil rights, and combatting human trafficking and violence against women. The financial assistance will be in the form of a living expense stipend to be used while the student is placed in a public interest setting for little or no pay.
