Edward T. Dugan American Nuclear Society Professional Excellence Award
GA: support professional development activities for outstanding student members of the American Nuclear Society, to heighten national recognition and stature of the University's nuclear student programs and the students themselves. Funding can be used for activities such as, but not limited to, travel, planning, presenting, conference expenses, and other scholarly activities.
Created in honor of Dr. Edward Dugan, a University alumnus and professor emeritus, and an expert in radiation/particle transport and Monte Carlo simulations. Dr. Dugan had a lasting impact on students and the American Nuclear Society. He was frequently awarded the professor of the year award as nominated by the students.
The spendable income from the Fund shall be used to support professional development activities for outstanding student members of the American Nuclear Society, to heighten national recognition and stature of the University’s nuclear student programs and the students themselves.
