Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Scholarship in Memory of Scott Beigel
The spendable income from the Fund shall be used to support scholarships for students at the University. Preference will be given to students in the following order: 1. First preference to a student who graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Broward County, Florida, and who participated on the school's cross-country team. 2. Second preference to a student who graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and who participated on the school's track team. 3. Third preference to a student who graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. 4. Fourth preference to a student who graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School East in Suffolk County, New York, and who participated on the school's cross-country team. 5. Fifth preference to a student who graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School East. 6. Sixth preference to a student who graduated from a high school in Broward County, Florida.
This scholarship is in honor of the 17 victims, who were senselessly killed on February 14th, 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School; and in support of their friends and families, and the community that they have forever touched.
Scott Beigel was a teacher. A cross-country coach. A camp counselor. A son. A brother. An uncle. A grandchild. A nephew. A cousin. A friend. A hero.
