Ric Rose Fund for Dance
This fund honors the memory of UF Dance Professor, Ric Rose, through awards and guest teaching residencies to alumni of the UF Dance Area. The funds can be used for the following expenses: Honoraria for alumni receiving the Rick Rose Alumni Award; The alumni should be selected by a faculty committee; Provided there is sufficient funding, an award should be made every year; Travel/accommodation expenses in support of the award; Masterclass instruction by the awardee; Funds can be used for a commemorative plaque; Reception support connected to the award.
This fund honors the memory of UF Dance Professor, Ric Rose, through awards and guest teaching residencies to alumni of the UF Dance Area. Rose was a longtime coordinator of the Dance Area during a career that spanned thirty years. He was recognized multiple times for excellence in teaching, a distinctive approach to dance theatre, and transformative contributions in service. Rose had a special connection to his students, frequently staying connected long after graduation and taking particular interest in the trajectory of their lives and careers. This fund honors Rose’s legacy of artistic excellence and heart-centered pedagogy by connecting current dance students to dance alumni through financial support of travel expenses and honoraria.
