Evan Thomas Bolton Memorial Scholarship
Support a Construction Management student who is at a junior level or higher and has not received any other scholarship during the same semester. The student does not need to prove financial need. Preference will be given to students who have graduated in the state of Florida. The student must love the ocean. Please include a paragraph about your adventures in the ocean.
This fund, honoring the memory of Evan Bolton, supports scholarships for students in the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management.
Evan, a lifelong resident of Alachua County, passed away unexpectedly in 2017 at the age of 13. He attended Oak Hall School, Hidden Oak Elementary and was in the 7th grade at Kanapaha Middle School. Evan was a kind and gentle person with a wonderful sense of humor. His love for the ocean led him to spend many days with his father kite-surfing, boogie or skim boarding, and on his family’s sailboat. Evan found fish fascinating and maintained a fish tank with his mother. Evan also enjoyed playing soccer and spending time with his friends. He was an avid audiobook listener with science fiction and fantasy novels being his favorite genres.
Evan is survived by his father, mother, sister, step-mother, step-father, step-brother, step-sister, grandparents, and great grandmothe
