Million Cat Challenge
Grant: Support the development and sharing of strategies to help animal shelters end the euthanasia of healthy cats. (See Grant)
Our goal is ambitious, yet achievable. We aim to prevent the death of a million cats in North American animal shelters. The University of Florida’s Shelter Medicine Program has identified a best-practice toolkit that changes the paradigm for humane management of homeless cats.
The Million Cat Challenge is a campaign through which shelters and animal control agencies can share practical strategies, challenges and successes as they implement these programs. Ultimately our goal is to make it possible for any shelter, with any budget, to use a combination of these tactics to save a million cats through the shelter system. With your help, we can do it!
