Established in 2013 by the estate of Barbara Ott in honor of W. Jape Taylor, M.D. to support research and education in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
Jape earned his medical degree from Harvard in 1947, followed by an internship in Boston and residency and fellowship at Duke University. He is considered a forefather of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Jape joined the staff as the first chief of Cardiology in 1958.
He passed away in 2011.
