Russell “Rusty” Slough Estate Florida Opportunity Scholars Fund
Fund Purpose
Estate: Support students at the University in the Bernie and Chris Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program; preference given to students from Pasco County and the surrounding areas. If the program ceases to exist at the University, then the income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes.

The Russell “Rusty” Slough Florida Opportunity Endowed Scholarship was established in 2012 in memory of Rusty. The scholarship was established for students from Pasco County, the county where his family-owned citrus farm was located.
Slough was an annual member of the UF Alumni Association and an avid Gator football fan. He was also enjoyed golf and played it for many years.
