This fund was established by Jane C. Poché in memory of her late husband, Lynn Bernard Poché, Jr., who passed away due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. The purpose of this fund is to support research in Parkison’s disease and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).

Jane earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1972.

Lynn earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in physics, while specializing in acoustics, at Southern Methodist University

Lynn worked at the University of Texas, the Naval School of Aviation Medicine in Pensacola and the University of Illinois, where he did acoustical research in hearing thresholds for the Navy. He also performed underwater sound research for the Naval Research Laboratory’s Underwater Sound Reference Division in Orlando, Fl. Lynn has worked with dolphins at Sea World and worked with cargo ships in the Caribbean. After retiring in 1991, he continued to work as a consultant for the Navy for two years.

Lynn passed away in 2012.
