Linda Hudson Florida Opportunity Scholarship
The spendable income of the Fund shall be used to support Florida Opportunity Scholarships for students at the University. If the Florida Opportunity Scholarships program ceases to exist at the University, then spendable income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes.
This fund was established in 2013 by Linda Hudson to support students at the University of Florida in the Florida Opportunty Scholars Program.
Linda earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Florida in 1972. She was one of only two female engineering graduates in her year. Linda received an honorary doctorate degree in engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2011. In 2014, Linda retired as president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc., the second largest global defense and security company in the world. She joined BAE Systems in 2006 and also served as an executive director on the BAE Systems Board. Linda was the first woman to ever head a major Pentagon contracto
