Alfred J. Dickhaus, M.D. Scholarship Fund

Fund Purpose
GA: Support need-based scholarship awards to students in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida who are veterans of the United States Armed Forces. (See Amended GA for additional details)

This fund was established in 2013 by Alfred J. Dickhaus to support need-based scholarships awards to students in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida who are veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Al received a bachelor’s degree in 1957 and his doctor of medicine degree in 1961, both from the University of Florida.

Al served in the U.S. Air Force where he was a pilot with the Strategic Air Command flying refueling missions for the B-52 Bombers, and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. After graduating from UF, he established his radiology practice in Gainesville, where he was instrumental in bringing the first MRI machine to the area. Al was an avid golfer and a world traveler.
