Susan and Russell Cameron Florida Opportunity Scholarship

Fund Purpose
The spendable income from the Fund shall be used to support students at the University in the Bernie and Chris Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program. If the program ceases to exist at the University, then the income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes.

This fund was established in 2013 by Susan and Russell Cameron to support students at the University of Florida in the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program.

Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Florida in 1980 and a master’s degree in business administration from Bellarmine University in 1987. She is retired from Reynolds American, where she served as chairwoman. Prior to working at Reynolds American she was the president of Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp.

Susan is a member of the UF Board of Trustees and a life member of the UF Alumni Association. She currently serves on the UF Foundation Board of Directors, the UFF Board Corporate and Foundation Advisory Council and the UF Women Steering Counci
