William G. Luttge Lectureship in Neuroscience

This fund was established in 2012 by the McKnight Brain Research Foundation to support a College sponsored annual lecture in the field of neuroscience.
William Luttge was best known for being the first director of the University of Florida’s Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute. He was employed at the University of Florida as a Professor Emeritus and Program Director of the university’s Brain Institute from 1971 to 2004. In 2003, William received the College of Medicine’s Lifetime Achievement Award. After his retirement, he spent his days backpacking through trails including the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail and the Florida Trail with his wife. In 2007, he was awarded the UFAA Award by the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
William passed away in 2012.
