Established in 2012 by James W. Packard, Jr. to support scholarship awards to students enrolled in the College of Medicine
James attended the University of Chicago, the University of Florida, and Northwestern University, where he earned two bachelor’s degrees and his MD.
He practiced medicine for over 50 years in both Illinois and Florida. He served in the US Navy where he held the rank of Commander.
James passed away in 201
