Richard W. Goodrum Memorial Fellowship

Fund Purpose
GA: Support fellowship awards to graduate students studying in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering; preference given to veterans of the U.S. Military and/or the children of veterans of the U.S. Military.

This fund was established in 2011 by Jeanette L. Goodrum in memory of her husband Richard. This fund supports graduate students studying mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Florida College of Engineering.

Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and life sciences in 1952 and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1957, both from the University of Florida. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp Army during the Korean War. Richard worked at Tredegar Corporation, a global manufacturer of plastic films and aluminum extrusions, for 40 years. He served as the executive vice president, chief operating officer and director of the company before retiring in 1996.

Richard passed away in 2007. He left behind Jeanette; their two children, Karen and Richard II; and five grandchildre
