Edmonds Family Florida Opportunity Scholarship
Spendable income supports Florida Opportunity Scholarships for students, either junior or senior, studying in the College of Health and Human Performance. If the Florida Opportunity Scholarship program ceases to exist at the University, then the fund shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes studying in the College.
This fund was established in 2011 by Major General Maurice and Jane Edmonds to support Florida Opportunity scholarships at the University of Florida.
Maurice received a bachelor’s degree in physical education health and recreation from the University of Florida in 1953, and a master’s degree in counseling from Shippensburg University in 1972. Maurice has been recognized as a distinguished alumnus of the University of Florida and the UF College of Health and Human Performance.
Jane earned her master’s degree in physical education and health from the University of Florida in 195
