Martinez-Pagliery Family Florida Opportunity Scholarship Endowment Fund
GA: The spendable income of the Fund shall be used to support Florida Opportunity Scholarships for students at the University. If the Florida Opportunity Scholarship program ceases to exist at the University, then spendable income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes.
This fund was established in 2011 by Charlie Martinez to support the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program for students at the University of Florida.
Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction from the University of Florida in 1985. He is president of Caribe Homes, the largest private home builder in Miami, FL.
Charlie is the past president of the Latin Builders Association. He is a member of many industry oversight boards such as the Minimum Housing Appeals Board, the Board of Rules and Appeals and the Building Code Committee of Miami-Dade County. Charlie is also a founding member and serves on the board of the Premier American Ban
