Eugene Pettis Family BLSA Academic Support Endowment

Fund Purpose
GA: Support expenses related to Black Law School Association (BLSA) activities such as BLSA Trail Team, BLSA Moot Court or other activities that support the academic enrichment of BLSA student members and are directly related to attaining the skills required to become successful in the legal profession. This fund was established by Eugene K. and Sheila Pettis in 2011 for the purpose of supporting expenses related to Black Law School Association activities such as BLSA Trial Team and BLSA Moot Court or other activities that support the academic enrichment of BLSA student members and are directly related to attaining the skills required to become successful in the legal profession.

Mr. Pettis graduated from the University of Florida where he received a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1982 and his juris doctor degree in 1985. He co-founded Haliczer Pettis in 1996 with James S. Haliczer, adding Richard B. Schwamm as partner in 1999. Mr. Pettis supports higher education, serving on the University of Florida Foundation’s board of directors for eight years and currently on the board of trustees at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law.
