This fund was established by Robert Glennon in 2011 to support (for the first 20 years) an annual award in the amount of $500 each for the top student in each of pro-bono and community service work. The remaining spendable dollars will go to the College’s unrestricted fund designated to support the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic.
Robert graduated from the University of Florida with his juris doctor degree in 1974 and his Master of Laws in Taxation in 1975. Robert has been a leading tax lawyer and lobbyist in Washington, D.C. for the past 30 years. Robert has been an adjunct professor in accounting and an instructor of law at the University of Florida. Robert is also an emeritus member of the Law Center Association Board of Trustees at the College of Law.
The gift is in honor of Robert’s wife, Helen, who died in 1998. During her life, she was an active volunteer in numerous women’s rights causes, most particularly, the battered women’s shelter program in Washington.
