Deborah Herbstman Science Library Endowment
GA: Support the acquisition of science resources in various formats and other needs for the Marston Science Library; to meet our students learning and faculty research needs.
This fund was established in 2011 by Barbara Herbstman in memory of her daughter Deborah.
This fund supports the Marston Science Library to acquire science resources to meet students learning and faculty research needs.
Barbara obtained her bachelor’s degree at Syracuse University, master’s degree at Columbia University and Ph.D. at the University of Illinois. She is a retired Philosophy professor and is very active in the League of Women Voters.
Deborah obtained her Ph.D in genetics at the University of Florida in 2009. While at UF, Deborah served as a clinical research assistant to the Department of Psychiatry and as a graduate research assistant to the Department of Physiology.
Deborah intended to earn her master’s degree in Library Science at Florida State University. She hoped to become a research librarian at an academic institution. Deborah passed away unexpectedly in 2010.
