The UF Center for Movement Disorders & Neurorestoration brings together medical leaders in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, neuroscience, psychiatry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. This extraordinary collaboration, with all the necessary experts in one setting, creates a more cohesive, effective and meaningful patient experience that has the potential to dramatically improve the quality of the care they will receive. This will, in turn, provide more and better data for research and allow an exceptional educational and training experience for the specialists of tomorrow.
The Center is a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, a Tyler’s Hope Center for Comprehensive Dystonia Care and a National Ataxia Foundation Center of Excellence. Among others, the UFMDC receives support from the National Institutes of Health, National Parkinson Foundation, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. However, private philanthropy remains a critical resource for continued excellence in the UFMDC’s work in education, research and patient care. This fund supports a variety of Center activities including outreach events that help create awareness and educate the community about our latest therapies and research discoveries.
