James M. Seeger, MD Endowment Fund in Vascular Surgery
Support the division of vascular surgery.
This fund was established in 2011 by a group of donors in honor of James M. Seeger to support the division of vascular surgery at the University of Florida.
James earned a bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his surgery residency training at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals. Between completing his internship and residency, he served as a general medical officer in the U.S. Navy.
James was a professor and chief of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the UF College of Medicine. He joined UF in 1982 as an assistant professor of surgery and rose through the academic ranks. In 1989, he established the Division of Vascular Surgery, serving as its first and only chief.
James passed away in 2009.
