Paul and Suzi Schutt Florida Native Plant Endowment
GA: Support the expenses of a Landscape Architecture Faculty and/or student to document the Property and prepare a master plan for a Florida native plant collection/educational garden located there; may be used to implement the resulting master plan/maintain the Property. This fund was established in 2011 by Paul and Suzi Schutt to support Department of Landscape Architecture faculty and students in the college of Design Construction and Planning.
The educational garden, which will be used to advance teaching and research related to Florida native plants, has approximately 500 native plants and 150 species all labeled with common and botanical names. The property has a large gazebo seating 40 people with a large vented fire pit which can be used for educational and social meetings.
The Paul and Suzi Schutt Florida Botanical Garden opened in Yulee in 2012. This three-acre marsh-side property was donated by the Schutts to the UF College of Design, Construction and Planning.
