Paul A. Robell Florida Opportunity Scholarship Endowment
Support the Florida Opportunity Scholarship program, if the program ceased to exist at the University of Florida then the spendable income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes.
This fund was established in 2010 by a group of donors to support the Florida Opportunity Scholars Program at the University of Florida in Paul Robell’s honor.
Paul A. Robell earned a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in 1966 and a master’s degree from Columbia University in 1967. Early in his career, Paul was director of development at Furman University. He was also director of alumni fund raising and associate campaign director at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to that, he was assistant director of development at Duke University from 1968 to 1978 and also worked in development at Emory University, Drew University and Dickinson College.
Paul joined UF in 1987 as director of the “Embrace Excellence campaign. He went on to lead the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs for two decades, overseeing the highly successful capital campaigns as well as major projects.
