This fund was established in 2010 by the estate of James C. Waggoner, Jr. to support graduate student research in the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Department of Anthropology.
James earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Georgia College in 1997. After graduation, he worked at University of Georgia Laboratory of Archaeology and then spent two years with historic preservations consultants Southern Research Inc. James earned a master’s degree from Florida State University in 2002 and a doctorate in anthropology from University of Florida in 2009.
James passed away in 2009.
