Willis Whittington Endowment at P. K. Yonge

This fund was established by a group of donors in 2010 in memory of Willis Whittington to support teaching, research, and the academic mission of the University of Florida P.K.Yonge Developmental Research School.

Willis earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from the University of Florida in 1949 and 1953, respectively.

Known as “Coach Whit” he was a teacher and basketball coach for 39 years. He taught mathematics, coached the varsity basketball team and served as the athletic director at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School at the University of Florida.

Willis passed away in 2009.
