Zachary Blain Schlitt Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2008 by Ron, Pandora, Ryan and Liza Schlitt and endowed in 2009 through the generosity of his many friends and colleagues and his family, the Zachary Blain Schlitt Endowed Scholarship honors a much loved son, brother and friend. Zach was a passionate supporter of the University of Florida and proud to call UF his alma mater. In addition to being an honor student, he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and was active in student and community life. Zach graduated from the College of Design, Construction, and Planning in 2005 and entered commercial real estate development, where he was a Real Estate Site Acquisitions Manager at Boos Development Group.
Zach died at the age of 28 in a tragic plane crash over the Gulf of Mexico while returning home from the November, 2008 UF-FSU game. Zach embraced each day with contagious laughter, enthusiasm and kindness. His love of and devotion to his friends and family made them better for having known him. This Scholarship serves to continue Zach’s history of imparting good into the lives of others.
