This fund was established in 2009 by Gator Nurse Linnea Schramm and a group of donors to honor Dr. Martha “Jo” Snider, by providing fellowships for students pursuing graduate degrees in the area of psychiatric nursing at the University of Florida College of Nursing. In 2014, Dr. Snider retired as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Care Environments and Systems after 46 years with the College of Nursing. She is a legend among the more than 6,000 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students that she taught in her 46 years at the University of Florida College of Nursing. At the time of her retirement, she taught in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as directed the undergraduate Honors Program.
Founding donor, Linnea Schramm, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1980, a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1984, a master’s degree in nursing in 1987 and a juris doctorate in 1995, all from the University of Florida.
