J. Roy Duggan Professorship of Accounting
Trust: support a professorship in Accounting at the Fisher School of Accounting, Warrington College of Business.
This fund was established in 2009 by the estate of J. Roy Duggan to support a professorship in accounting at the Fisher School of Accounting, Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida.
Roy was born in 1916 in Jacksonville, FL. He earned bachelor’s degree in business administration from UF in 1938. Roy worked for King and Prince Seafood in Brunswick, GA for over 30 years, serving as the company’s president, chairman and chief executive officer before retiring in 1995.
Prior to his career with King and Prince, Roy was the executive vice president and then the president for the SeaPak Shrimp and Seafood Company, based in Georgia, from 1950-1960. He was also the president of the Hubbard Printing Company in Atlanta, GA from 1946-1950.
Roy was named a UF distinguished alumnus in 1993, and was heavily involved in the UF Football Program.
Roy passed away in 1995. His wife, Mabel passed away in 2009. They left their three children, John, Margaret and Jennifer.
