Jerry Kaczur’s Fund
The Glycogen Storage Disease Program team at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to being the leading center for GSD research and clinical care. Patients with GSD Ib develop severe hypoglycemia with fasting, and the disease is associated with numerous co-morbidities including neutropenia (compromised immune system), low blood sugars, Crohn’s disease, and osteoporosis. Patients with GSD are unable to have any products containing fruit (fructose), dairy (lactose), or sugar (sucrose).
Donations such as yours will enable the GSD team to continue expanding their research program to develop better treatment options as well as a cure for GSD Ib for patients like Jerry. The Jerry Kaczur fund will also support education efforts aimed at improving care for children and adults with GSD.
