Carol French Doughty
This fund was established in 2009 by Paul L. and Polly French Doughty, in memory of their daughter, to support graduate research in Latin America and Latino communities in the United States through the Center for Latin American Studies at UF.
Carol French Doughty grew up in Bloomington, IN, and Gainesville, FL, where her family moved in 1971. The fund’s purpose reflects Carol’s longstanding engagement with Latin America and its people along with her strong belief that teaching was an indispensable calling in support of society and nation. The grants will be awarded through the Center for Latin American Studies’ annual Field Research Grant Competition.
