Elling Eide Professorship in Miccosukee Language and Culture
Fund Purpose
GA: support an endowed chair in the CLAS at UF in Southeastern United States Native American (Indian) Languages; chair will enhance scholarship and provide opportunities for teaching, research in linguistics, and language preservation, especially as related to the Miccosukee, Seminole (MVSKOKE) and associated languages and the languages spoken by indigenous Florida Indians, especially the Timucua and the Caloosa.
