Norman and Irma Braman Chair in Holocaust Studies
GA: support a chair in the Center for Jewish Studies; holder of the chair shall be granted full-tenure by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and will focus his or her activities on a) teaching, scholarly activities and programs in the area of Holocaust Studies at the Center for Jewish Studies and b) working with both undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing undergraduate certificates, masters degrees or researching the Holocaust for their doctoral dissertations.
Norman and Irma Braman established this fund in 2008 to support a chair in Jewish Studies. The Bramans have a strong commitment to supporting Holocaust studies on a collegiate level and directed their resources to the University of Florida because of their high opinion of the Center for Jewish Studies. Their grandson, Alex Shack, is a graduate of UF. Norman is a previous owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and is currently the owner and CEO of Braman Management.
