Thomas Family Foundation Endowment

Fund Purpose
GA: support scholarships and other academic programs in the sport of football; preference shall be given to athletes studying engineering and/or other technical pursuits at UF.

This fund was established in 2008 by the Thomas Family Foundation, Inc. located in Greenwich, CT.

President David M. Thomas graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering in 1971 and a master’s degree in engineering in 1972. His wife Carolyn, also graduated from UF in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in education.

David served as the chairman and chief executive officer of IMS Health, the world’s leading provider of market intelligence to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, from November 2000 to January 2005. He served as the executive chairman of the Board of Directors until his retirement in March 2006.

David and Carolyn have three children, all graduates of the University of Florida, Carin T. Anderson earned a master’s degree in Mass Communications in 1997, Robert D.
