Judge Wm. Terrell Hodges Tuition Scholarship
GA: support scholarship awards to incoming students based on recommendations made to the Dean by the college's Admissions and Financial Aid Committees; recipients are to demonstrate an integrity of character, exemplary work ethic, and desire to serve society as is exemplified by the person in whose name this scholarship is established; based primarily on need with merit also considered; awards are renewable for recipient's(s') 2nd and 3rd years provided recipients(s) maintains a committee approved grade point average.
This scholarship was established in 2008 by Scott and Lynda Whitaker in honor of Judge William Terrell Hodges to support scholarship awards to incoming students based on recommendations made to the Dean.
William received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Law from the University of Florida. At the age of 37 he was appointed as a United States District Judge, becoming one of the youngest lawyers ever appointed to the federal bench.
Scott has served as an attorney, business leader and consultant, college baseball coach, adjunct college professor, and minister. He is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law and is the Chief Operating Officer of Whitaker Partners, LL
