Lt. Col. R. G. Engstrand AFROTC Scholarship
Fund Purpose
GA (amended): support scholarship awards to students attending the University of Florida, admitted to the AFROTC Program and eligible for appointment as officers in the United States of America National Military Establishment. If the AFROTC Program is discontinued at UF, the scholarship(s) is to be awarded to students in any officer training program at UF which leads to a commission in any of the USA Armed Forces; if no recipient is selected in a given year, pursuant to the above provisions, then the income shall be reinvested as part of the principal of the fund for future scholarships; if there are no eligible candidates for a period of 10 yrs, the fund name shall become the Dr David A Engstrand Scholarship Fund and scholarship(s) will be awarded to medical students at UF.

This fund was established in 2007 by the estate of Raynold G. Engstrand. Engstrand was born September 30, 1924. As a patriotic 18 year old, he qualified for the Army Air Corps Reserve. Upon his graduation, he was activated and after cadet school and training, was assigned to the 379th Bombardment Group as a navigator flying B-17s in combat missions over Germany.
