Edwin Presser

This fund was established in honor of Edwin Presser by his family. Ed grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from The Bolles School in 1948. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1952 with high honors from the College of Business. After serving as a lst Lieutenant in the United States Army, where he was in charge of the Finance Office at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Ed practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in Jacksonville for several years before attending law school at the University of Florida. He received a Juris Doctor degree Cum Laude in 1958, was an Editor of the University of Florida Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif.

Ed returned to Jacksonville to practice law following his graduation from the law school in 1958 and maintained an active practice until his retirement in corporate and business law; wills, estates and estate planning; and real property law. Ed was a long-standing member of the Jacksonville Bar Association and the Florida Bar and was a frequent volunteer for a wide range of charitable and public interest causes, including the Jacksonville Mental Health Association, the Progressive Credit Union, the Jacksonville Jewish Center, the River Garden Hebrew Home for Aged and several Masonic organizations.
