Thomas H. Maren
The Thomas H. Maren Foundation established this fund in 2006 to support junior investigators in the College of Medicine. Dr. Maren earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton, his medical degree from Johns Hopkins and was a founding faculty member and Chair of the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics in the College of Medicine. He spent the majority of his career conducting research at the University of Florida, where his discoveries paved the way for the development of new drugs to treat heart and kidney disease, brain fluid disorders and altitude sickness. He passed away in 1999 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Emily, and their six children.
