Rolf M. and Anne T. Kuhns Endowed Scholarship Fund for Physical Therapy
GA: support annual award to a student studying physical therapy demonstrating excellence in clinical skill and acuity; recipients must have fulfilled internship requirements in all clinical settings to be eligible for the award; written nominations from the internship supervisor or a faculty member will be submitted to the awards committee who will review and vote anonymously to select awardees.
Rolf Kuhns earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy in 1972 from the University of Florida. Following graduation, he worked with physical therapist, Peter Lord, in a private practice setting in Lake City and later in Orlando. Rolf has been successful in establishing on-going relationships with local employers, and helped develop the Injured Employee Management System with an electronic tracking and reporting system to help industry manage the work-injured patient.
The College of Health Professions honored Rolf in 2001 as a recipient of the Alumnus of the Year Award. Rolf was also chosen to receive the Fred Rutan Service Award by the Florida Physical Therapy Association, which is the most prestigious award given by this association.
Anne earned her bachelor’s degree in music in 1970 and a master’s degree in education in 1975, both from UF. She is the Vice-President, Information Security and Chief Information Security Officer for The Walt Disney Company and in August 2007, she was named the winner of the prestigious Information Security Executive of the Year Southeast Awar
