Bonni Tischler

This fund was established by the estate of Bonni G. Tischler; and her brothers Sam Tischler JM1970 and Andrew Kessel to support scholarships for students interested in advancing women’s leadership. Bonni earned her bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications from the College of Journalism, University of Florida in 1966. Bonni was awarded alumni of Distinction in the College of Journalism in 2002. Bonni was the first female Assistant Commissioner in the history of the United States Custom Service being appointed to this post for the Office of Field Investigations in 1997 followed by the appointment to Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Field Operations in 2000 and at the time was the highest ranking female federal agent. Robert Bonner, Commissioner of the United States Custom and Border Protection stated, “No other woman in Federal Law Enforcement has ever achieved what Bonni Tischler accomplished in her long career”.
