Stanley S. Barchan, Jr. and Elaine I. Barchan Scholarship Fund
Support scholarships awarded to undergraduate students in the Warrington College of Business; monies can be used for students' needs for tuition, fees, board, room, books and classroom equipment; three scholarships can be per year until the money is fully needed.
Stanley S. Barchan, Jr. was born July 12, 1928 in Jacksonville, FL. He earned a bachelor’s degree in statistics in 1949 and a master’s degree in economics in 1952 from the University of Florida.
He served as a first lieutenant in the US Army Field Artillery in the Korean War, where upon his return he joined IBM Corporation where he then worked for 38 years. During his career, Barchan worked as District Manager, Branch Manager and Marketing Manger. He also worked for several years in various countries in Asia.
He passed away in 2002. He and his wife, Elaine, had two children, Stanley S. Barchan III and Steven M. Barchan. Friends and family established this fund in his memory in 2006.
