Dr. Andrea Trescot Fund for Graduate Studies in Zoology

Dr. Andrea M. Trescot earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology in 1978 in three years from the University of Florida and worked as a lab technician before attending the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
After graduating from medical school, Trescot began her military career as an intern and resident at the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda. After a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at the National Children’s Hospital in Washington, she was stationed at the Naval Hospital at Jacksonville, 50 miles from her hometown.
She soon took over additional duties as the director of the ICU, and then established the first pain clinic at the Naval Hospital. After four years on active duty, she left the Navy to enter private anesthesia practice in the Florida Panhandle. In 1989 she left the operating room to devote the rest of her professional career to the treatment of chronic pain, establishing North Florida’s first full time interventional pain private practic
