Support professorship in the School of Building Construction.

Charles R. Perry

Charles R. “Chuck” Perry established this endowment through his estate in 2006 to support a professorship in the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction. He graduated from the University of Florida with his bachelor’s degree in building construction in 1960 and founded his companies, Charles Perry Construction, in 1968, and PPI in 1993.

Chuck was also known for constructing landmark buildings such as the Gainesville Regional Utilities building, the downtown Alachua County Public Library, the former and current courthouses, North Florida Regional Medical Center and many buildings at UF and Santa Fe Community College. He enjoyed spending time on the Suwannee River, attending UF sporting events and traveling. He was a founding member of the UF Bull Gators, a member of the Once A Month Bunch and the Gainesville Quarterback Club. Chuck was also a founding and emeritus member of the Building Construction Industry Advisory Council Executive Committee and was inducted into the Rinker School’s Construction Hall of Fame in 1983 for his outstanding contributions to construction of quality buildings and active support of the School.
