Support cancer research in the College of Medicine.

This fund was established by Mary Jelks Irwin in 2004 for the purpose of supporting cancer research conducted by Shands.

Irwin was born April 27, 1923. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in 1945. She and her husband, George, had two children together: Mary Elizabeth Irwin-deBrueys and William E. Irwin. William graduated from UF with a bachelor’s in building construction in 1976. Mary passed away on August 4, 2004.
