Ruth Hay and Hans Schrader Nursing Scholarship/Fellowship Fund

History

Hans W. Schrader, a research physicist at the University of Florida for 42 years, established this fund in 1995. Born in Hanover, Germany, in 1916, Hans earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UF in 1945. His beloved wife, Ruth Hay Schrader, was a registered nurse with the UF infirmary and served as supervisor of nurses for 24 years. She passed away in 1988. Hans died approximately 15 years later in 2003. He was 87.
